Liga trains students to advise patients
On Wednesday 15th October 2008, the Faculty of Law at Palacký University in Olomouc hosted an introductory seminar on patients’ rights.
Fourteen students from the law clinic participated in the three-hour educational program. Apart from doing a simulated interview with a client, the students learned about the legal regulations concerning access to medical records, informed consent, mandatory vaccination and compensation for physical injury. The students are participating in student legal clinic, and under the supervision of Liga lawyers, they will be helping the patients who seek advice at the centre.
Within the “Fair Hospital” project, Liga also tries to promote patients’ access to information on their rights and how to enforce them. In cooperation with the Faculty of Law in Olomouc, Liga will extend its activities to the region of Central Moravia.
