International Criminal Court
The Czech Republic is the only EU Member State which has not ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC). The ICC prosecutes the most severe violations of human rights, and is currently supported byes governments of 105 States. Liga finds the position of the Czech Republic utterly untenable and hence, initiated a meeting of four prominent Czech NGOs operating in this field, creating an informal alliance. In January 2007, this alliance published a public call for ratification, where both the Government and Parliament was pushed towards immediate accession to the ICC. At this present time, the alliance is supported by more than 20 NGOs, including Amnesty International Czech Republic, People in Need and the Czech Red Cross.
